About the RCCA

Purpose

The purpose of the RCCA is to represent professional and business interests of Russian lawyers working in corporations, associations and other private organizations by arranging joint events, collecting and distributing information, contributing to development of professional skills and career.

Overview

The RCCA aims to be a useful and efficient Russian legal association and has a mission to serve various needs of corporate lawyers in Russia.

In order to perform this role the RCCA plans:

  • to determine, understand and address public needs and interests of corporate lawyers in Russia;
  • to assist the members of association in improving their practical knowledge;
  • to contribute to maximum efficiency of legal services provided to clients; and to promote the corporate lawyers' status;
  • to encourage the RCCA members to use the most efficient methods in legal practice, including new/efficient ways of resolving disagreements in business practice;
  • to influence the increase of importance and development of legal profession and legal practice in Russia;
  • to provide a wide range of services in the field of information support, education, cooperation and advocacy for business.

Structure, Organization and Management

The Board consists of corporate lawyers of the leading Russian companies.

Committees:

  • The Corporate Committee.
  • The Intellectual Property and Anti-Counterfeiting Committee.
  • The Finance and Tax Committee.
  • The Mediation Committee.
  • The Legal Profession Committee.

In addition, the RCCA plans to establish the International Advisory Committee, which will consist of invited foreign corporate lawyers and will be aimed at development of relations between the RCCA and foreign organizations.

The RCCA Executive Personnel

The number of the RCCA executive personnel is reduced to a minimum.

Performance. The major types of activities and services.

Organizing such corporate events as workshops, conferences, round tables to provide opportunities to acquire new knowledge and to communicate with other RCCA members.

Supporting the work of the RCCA special committees focused on various legal issues.

Supporting the RCCA web site, which will contain general information for interested people, and such educational and practical materials for the members, as, for example, the virtual library of legal materials, standard forms of legal documents online, information on innovations in legal practice.

Holding annual meetings in order to work cooperatively on different issues, meet with colleagues and exchange experience.

Providing opportunity for cooperation, networking with other members, exchanging information and online job search.

Supporting professional academic programs in the future.

About the RCCA President

Nesterenko Alexandra Konstantinovna

Alexandra Nesterenko graduated with honors from the Law Faculty of the Leningrad State University. After graduation Alexandra worked as Attorney at Law at the St. Petersburg City Bar Association for more than 10 years.

Alexandra had internship at the Bar Association of Ile-de-France, Paris, than worked at the International Law Firm Gide Loyrette Nouel in Paris.

In May 1992 Alexandra set up the St. Petersburg office of Gide Loyrette Nouel and successfully managed it up to 1998.

In May 1998 Alexandra became the Head of Legal Affairs of Unilever Russia & Ukraine, where she worked up to 2004.

Since May 2004 till march 2007 Alexandra has been the Compliance and Business Support Director of British American Tobacco Russia.

In 2007 — Vice-President Legal and Corporate Affairs of International banking group BNP Paribas Vostok.

At present — Deputy to the General Manаger of the State Corporation "Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies", Legal Affairs.

In 2003 Alexandra has been appointed the Vice-President of the Russian Corporate Counsel Association (RCCA), in 2005 she became the President of the RCCA.

Rewarded by the European Award Committee of the United Nations with the Order of the Catherine The Great for "Deeds for Good of Nations". The Order has been conferred upon for the significant contribution into the development of the international legal community.
